Visitors

Who opens your menu, how far they get towards an order, where they come from, what they search for: no cookies.

Included in: StandardPro

Visitors shows what people do on your site: how many opened the menu over the last 7, 30 or 90 days, how far they got towards an order, where they came from, which dishes they looked at and added, and what they searched for. It counts visits where Reports counts sales; Your sales are in Reports at the top takes you there. A manager or the owner opens it; staff do not. On a plan without visitor stats the page says what a larger plan would show, and what was counted before waits for when the plan has it again.

What is counted, and how

Counting uses no cookie and keeps nothing about a person. A visitor is recognised for one day only, by a code made from their connection and browser with a secret that changes every day and is thrown away the day after: the same phone counts once a day, cannot be followed from one day to the next or from one restaurant to another, and cannot be traced back to anyone. Only daily totals are kept, for 13 months. Not counted: your own visits while you are signed in to the admin, search engines' robots, link previews, pages a browser fetched ahead of time, and the Design page's previews.

Something counts only once it went through: a menu shown, a dish's page shown, a dish that is in the basket afterwards, the checkout shown, an order sent. A search is counted when the diner stops typing, with whether the menu had what they typed; a search that looks like a person's own details, an email address or a phone number, is not kept.

The figures

Pick Last 7 days, Last 30 days or Last 90 days and, at a restaurant with branches, All branches or one of them. The tiles are the period's totals: Visitors (Each counted once a day), Menu views, Dishes opened, Dishes added, Checkouts opened, Orders placed and Searches. Visitors by day draws a bar a day - over 90 days a bar a week, as Visitors by week - and Each day as a table lists the numbers behind it, newest first.

The Visitors page shows the period's totals and a bar for each day.

From visit to order

From visit to order is the funnel: of everyone who Opened your site, how many Added a dish, Opened the checkout and Placed an order, each as a count and a share of all visitors. Orders placed counts every order a visitor sent, paid or not; Reports counts the orders you accepted, so the two can differ.

Where visitors came from says how each visitor first arrived that day: A table's QR code, A branch's own link (the one on its poster or in a message), Google and other search engines, Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, Other websites, or Direct: typed, saved, or a link in an app.

The funnel shows how far visitors got, and the sources say how they first arrived.

Dishes and searches

Dishes opened most and Dishes added most list ten dishes each, with how often each was Opened and Added. Looked at, rarely chosen appears when a dish was opened at least ten times and added to a basket fewer than one time in ten: worth a look at its photo, its description or its price.

Two tables list the dishes opened most and added most over the period.

What diners searched for lists the words typed into your menu's search most often, how many Times, and how often they Found nothing. Looked for, not found is the list to act on: dishes your customers wanted that your menu does not have, or does not call what they call them.

The searches diners typed, and the ones that found nothing, are each counted.

"For you": what diners are offered

With suggestions in your plan, the menu offers dishes worked out from your own orders and nothing about the diner:

  • Popular now, under the menu's bar: the dishes in the most orders of the last two weeks (three at least), up to eight. A phone that ordered here before sees Order again in its place, with its own past dishes; that list stays on the phone and is never sent to you.
  • Goes well with {dish} on a dish's page, and Goes well with your order in the basket: the dishes most often ordered together in the last three months.

Only dishes a diner can order right now are offered - in stock, at their branch's price, in a category served now - and the row hides while they are searching or filtering.

Popular now sits under the menu's bar, as a diner sees it on a phone.
