Privacy notice

This notice explains what personal data WataDish handles, for whom, and why.

Who we are

WataDish is a service of Amberlock Ltd. You can reach us about your data at support@watadish.com.

Who decides

For the people who order from a restaurant on WataDish, the restaurant is the controller of their data and WataDish is its processor: we handle that data on the restaurant’s behalf, to run its site and its orders.

For the people who run a restaurant’s account, and for visitors to this site, we are the controller.

Customers of a restaurant

When you order, we process your name, your phone number, your delivery address and your email if you give one, the order itself, how it was paid and the language you ordered in. A card number never reaches us: it goes straight to Stripe.

Restaurant staff

For each person with an account we process their name, email, role and when they last signed in. For an owner who asks to be paid out, we also keep the bank details given, stored encrypted.

Why

To show menus, take orders and pass them to the restaurant, to collect card payments and pay restaurants out, to send the emails an order or an account needs, and to keep the service secure. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who else handles it

Stripe, which processes card payments; an email provider, which delivers our emails; and the providers that host our servers and carry our traffic. Each handles the data only to provide its service to us.

Orders sent on WhatsApp

When a customer sends an order to a restaurant on WhatsApp, the message goes from their own WhatsApp to the restaurant’s. WataDish does not send it, and WhatsApp’s own terms apply to it.

How long we keep it

Orders and payments are financial records: we keep them for as long as the restaurant’s account is open and then for as long as the law requires, which in the UK is six years. A staff account is deleted when it is removed, apart from the audit trail of what it changed.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the data held about you. If you ordered from a restaurant, ask the restaurant first; we help it answer. You can also write to us at support@watadish.com.

Cookies

We use only the cookies the service needs: to keep you signed in, to protect forms, and to remember your language and your order while you build it. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.
